Join us for a day of stress reduction, silent contemplation, and meditation for lawyers, law-related professionals, and their families.
This is a day of retreat and renewal for people working in the field of law who have an established meditation practice, or who would like to learn meditation.
There will be time for non-sectarian meditation or silent contemplation, for lunch together, and for discussion in small groups.

Guest Speaker Linda Frischmeyer, JD, has practiced law for 30 years. She practices only employment law, particularly proactive problem solving, strategic advice, management training, and conflict resolution.
Guest Speaker Kim Hansen, Ll.B., has been a tax litigator in Vancouver, Canada for 25 years. He leads the North Shore Zendo in Vancouver and is much happier than he once was.
Jan Chozen Bays, MD
Dr. Jan Bays is a pediatrician, a Zen meditation teacher, mother and wife. Since 1985 she has been the teacher for Zen Community of Oregon and in 2002 she helped found Great Vow Zen Monastery, where she is currently co-abbot. She has taught and lectured on mindful eating nationally and her book Mindful Eating: A Guide to Rediscovering a Healthy and Joyful Relationship with Food was published by Shambhala in 2009. She has published articles on Zen and meditation in Tricycle and Buddhadharma magazine and is particularly involved in teaching how to use meditation to work with eating disorders and grief.
