During this sesshin we will remember and taste the lives and teachings of those who have directly influenced the dharma at Great Vow Monastery including Maezumi Roshi, Philip Kapleau Roshi, Shodo Harada Roshi, and Chozen Roshi.

Kim Hoben Hansen, Dharma Holder

Kim Hoben Hansen is a lay teacher. He leads the North Shore Zendo (www.northshorezen.org) in Vancouver, Canada.  He began formal zen practice in 1995 and has trained with Chozen roshi and Hogen roshi since 1996.  They named him as a Dharma Holder in 2011.  Hoben practices law as a tax litigator.  He is married and has three grown daughters.

Larry Fuho Trussell, Dharma Holder

Larry Fuho Trussell has practiced with the Zen Community of Oregon since 2001 and, as a lay Dharma Holder, has taught at Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple since 2010. Fuho began zen practice in 1976 with Maezumi Roshi in Los Angeles, and also studied with Genpo Merzel and Joko Beck in California before becoming a student of Chozen and Hogen Bays. He works as a research scientist and is married with one grown son.
