How You Can Help

Back to Burmese Families

Soe's Family

Please contact Nan with any apartment leads in the SE 28th and Rhone neighborhood.  The family is required by the federal rules to have a one bedroom unit.  We will be supplementing their income because their monthly allotment will be very small prior to their employment.  It will be extremely valuable for this family to stay close to Errol's family for companionship and support, including childcare for the little one.

We currently need crib sheets, blankets and toys for the baby.

Nan is also looking for ideas about a possible full time job for Moses Rains.  He is a recent immigrant from Burma who has been helping as a translator for the Soe family. He has a college degree and speaks English fluently.  Prior to leaving Burma, he worked for a large investment firm doing advertising.  Please contact Nan if you know of any employment opportunities.  Moses has passed out of IRCO so they will no longer be of service to him re: employment. He will be looking for a job ASAP. Click here for Nan's email.

Errol's Family

Right now there is not much for the children to play with in the apartment.

Also, here is a list of clothing/shoe size for each family member:

Peter - Boy's size S(6-7) or M(8-10)/ Boys size 1 shoes

Christian - Girl's size M-L (8, 10 or 12) tops, Girls size 14 bottoms/ Girls size 2.5 shoes

Mo - Boy's size L(9-10) or XL(11-12)/ Men's size 6-6.5 shoes

Sarah - Woman's size S(8-10)--she likes fairly conservative stuff/ Women's size 6 shoes

Errol - Men's size M with a 33-34 waist/ Men's size 9 shoes

If you have any extra time, please consider spending an hour or an afternoon with our friends from Burma.  They are a sweet and loving family who could use a little help adjusting to life in a new country.

If you are interested in donating time, toys clothing or being involved in any way please contact Nan & Allen.

More information will be posted here as it develops.
