Most of our fear arises from fear of death. An essential part of spiritual practice is to face the fact of our inevitable death and to prepare for it. To do this can be a gift to our family and friends. This class will include meditations on death, writing advance directives, learning about the biological facts of death and Buddhist funerals, and also a few compelling videos Jan Chozen Bays, M.D. is a doctor and Zen priest . She has practiced medicine and Zen Buddhism for more than thirty years and specializes in the field of child abuse. She is one of the spiritual leaders of Zen Community of Oregon and Great Vow Zen Monastery. Father Dirk Dunfee, S.J . is an RN and a Roman Catholic priest and member of the the Jesuits Anne Senryu Pechovnik ,RN has been a nurse for 11 years and worked in women's healthcare in Central America.
