9am - 4pm St David of Wales Metta , Sanskrit for Loving-Kindness, is considered one of the sublime attitudes of an enlightened being. Applying it to our own lives helps us to treat ourselves and others with more (greater?) compassion. When we focus this simple practice to our physical bodies it can help us to cultivate appreciation and let go of the constant judging towards our body and ourselves.
Sherri Konin Montgomery combines Metta practice with classical Hatha yoga in a one-day workshop that explores the transformative, beneficial energy that arises from Loving-Kindness. This event will particularly work to help participants cultivate deep compassion & appreciation for their body.
The workshop will feature Yoga postures, breath-work, meditation, and group discussion to support the heart-opening nature of Loving-Kindness practice. Modifications, options and adjustments will be offered to make postures accessible to students at all levels and all body types. A light, vegan lunch will be offered to all participants.
You will need to start the day with an empty stomach and wearing clothing that is comfortable & allows full-range of movement. Although some mats and props will be available, if you have your own, please bring them. |
