    Peeking Jizo

    The Peeking Jizo is almost 4" tall. It carries a child in its arms. There is another child peeking out from behind its robes, from which it gets its name. Each Jizo is a unique work of art - designed by Jan Chozen Bays Roshi and cast by her students at Great Vow Zen Monastery. After casting, several stages of hand finishing and glazing follow. Glaze colors and patterns have natural variations and will vary somewhat from the photos.

    Child Protecting Jizo

    This 6.5" ceramic statue represents the child protecting aspect of Jizo. These ceramic Jizos are perfect for a small altar at home or in a child's room. These images are good gifts for new parents or for children. Jizo statues can also be given in memory of someone who has died. Jizo is the guardian and protector of children before or after birth.

    Gassho Jizo - Large

    "Gassho" is the Japanese word for placing the palms together, a symbol of respect, appreciation, and prayer. In continual gassho, these Jizos offer their blessings to everything they encounter. They were designed by a resident of the monastery. Purchases support the monastery and his further artistic endeavors.

    Color choice is currently limited to celedon (light) green.
