The Art of Coming Undone – Dharma Teachings On How to Fall Apart – Online Retreat
December 4 - 5, 2020
Friday evening 7pm Orientation Saturday : Morning Session : 9:30A - 12:30P Afternoon Session : 2:30P - 5:30P
Life will puncture, chip away at, dissolve, challenge and/or forcefully evolve any stasis, fixed identity or limited perspective we have, as individuals and as societies. Contemplative practice accelerates and amplifies this dynamic – we have to come apart before we can see and be with fresh eyes.
Contemplative tradition also has centuries of wisdom on how we can embody this coming apart with grace.
In this retreat, we will first open our vision to ceaseless transformation on the micro and macro-cosmic levels, aligning our intellect with the raw fact of non-stop flow in every detail of existence.
With that foundation, we will zoom into our embodiment to testify to our personal dynamic fluxing in every moment.
From there, we will reflect on the emotional dissonance and confusion that we are asked to welcome as our illusions of coherence melt in the sun of awareness. Teachings and practices for being with and learning from this deconstruction will cap the weekend of practice together.
Meditation sessions will bookend each session of Saturdays deep exploration.
Morning Session : 9:30A – 12:30P
Afternoon Session : 2:30P – 5:30P
Friday evening at 7pm we will have an orientation and introductory teachings, Sunday will have a wrap up talk.
