24-Hour Interfaith Chant for Peace—A Day of Song and Chants for Peace

Saturday, August 03, 2019 - 10:00 am to Sunday, August 04, 2019 - 2:00 pm

Awake with passion for inner and global transformation, this 24-hour chanting vigil is a celebration of our spiritual aspirations to see the Divine in every person, and to live Awakened Love. This is an InterFaith event. Each hour of the Chant for Peace is led by a different spiritual tradition. We form one community and join our voices together. Chanting is spiritually potent medicine, it aligns heart and mind, connects us to Spirit and radiates prayers and blessing waves into the world.

There are times of seated chanting and times of circumambulating the monastery. Anyone and everyone are invited to attend for any length of time. There are beds available for napping and a buffet table available for refreshment throughout the event.

There is no cost for this event. The food will be potluck-style this year, so please consider bringing a dish to share.

Every year we donate to procedes to an organization that is committed to working for peace in our communities. This year all donations from the event will go to Peace in Schools an organization in the Portland area that is committed to bringing mindfulness programs to young people in schools, shelters, and social service agencies.
