Absorbing World Sound: A Daylong Listening Meditation Experience

Friday, June 26, 2020 - 6:30 am to 9:00 pm

A deep listening meditation immersion

"Absorbed in waves of tones and timbers we emerge refreshed , having reset our being through putting a pause on our mind’s habitual stream "

Listening meditation has been a trusted gateless gateway to non-duality in contemplative traditions for millennia . We may have glimpsed a falling away of separate self-sense at some time in our life - listening to sounds of nature, a piece of music , a melodious voice.

Jogen 'Beyond-J' will provide a mercurial live stream of enchanting sounds for  ear, awareness and vibration to merge in a spacious love affair. The four sessions of practice support us in diving deep into this way of absorption.

This event is open to anyone interested in meditation and sound, beginner's and seasoned practitioners welcome, full time or partial attendance is also welcome.

We will have an orientation meeting with all those registered at 6PM Thursday June 25th to check in about the logistics, details and answer any practical questions about the retreat format. Friday evening orientation will include instruction on listening mediation method.

7:00 - 9:00       Sound Meditation and optional group interviewDoing a retreat at home can be empowering, take up the practice in your own home and know the peace and clarity of mind in your own dwelling place! To support doing a day of retreat in your home we recommend doing the following:

1. Reflect on your intention
2. Create a scared space with a simple altar and meditation supports in a clean room that allows for calm/peace of mind
3. Commit to a schedule
4. Give up or reduce media, phone and extra computer use for the duration of the retreat
5. Keep the practice going during the "breaks" by engaging with Mindful Eating during meals and choosing simple work (gardening, cleaning, etc.), body practice/exercise (walking, yoga, qi gong) or creative projects that support your meditation practice/intention.
6. Consider being in silence for the full day, or practicing silence for specific periods during the day
7. If you live with others, communicate with them what your intention is for this day of practice and ask them to support you
