Daughters of Emptiness: A Meditation Retreat for Women

Thursday, October 01, 2020 - 5:00 pm to Sunday, October 04, 2020 - 1:00 pm

Open and Strong. Fierce and Tender - Mother, Lover, Artist, Caretaker, Mystic, Earthwalker. Wearing a woman's body asks us to dance myriad roles and forms in unique and personal ways. So much of our experience as women can appear hidden from the mainstream Dharma world, as has been true over the centuries for many female Buddhist practitioners.

What does it mean to be a woman anyway?

During this retreat we will celebrate the diversity of experience and expression found in the label "woman" through the teachings and stories from the women dharma ancestors and other wise women as well as through our own embodied reality.

This retreat is an exploration into ourselves, who we really are and all that we contain. Meditation, yoga, mindful movement exercises, toning/singing will support us in deeply settling into and caring for our bodies as a source of innate wisdom and love.

There will also be time for exploration through the written word and small group sharing, and opportunities to meet with the retreat leaders.

This retreat is open to anyone who identifies as woman and will take place in the serenity and wild beauty of the monastic environment, grounds and forest.

Please bring a journal.
