Full Priest Ceremony for Soten and Kisei

Sunday, December 16, 2018 - 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Our Fall Practice Period, Ango, ends this year with Full Priest Ordination for Soten and Kisei.

In our Sangha, priest ordination is a training in simplicity, self-less service and continuous ongoing support and commitment to the community. The priests are pillars at the monastery, dependable and dedicated to their own practice and evolution they provide the sense of support and encouragement to all those who seek spiritual refuge.

Soten and Kisei both have lived at Great Vow Monastery for the past 8.5 years. They have served many of the service roles at the monastery, and have been stepping into leadership roles within the Sangha.

Full Priest Ordination is a kind of graduation. It acknowledges their commitment, vows and growth.

During this ceremony both Soten and Kisei will share from their experience, there will be opportunity for members of the community to question, engage and acknowledge them.

Rarely do we as a Sangha have the opportunity to publically express gratitude to the priests. Please come out and share your appreciation for their years of service and support.
