Oceans of Compassion: A Beach Clean-up Retreat

In conjunction with the SOLVE Oregon Beach Cleanup,
you’re invited to join the Zen Community of Oregon for
a weekend CAMPING retreat
at BEVERLY BEACH STATE PARK

Take a weekend on the coast to connect with the Sangha. With a relaxed schedule and opportunity for socializing, there will be sitting times, Dharma talks, and practices to take with you into the clean-up.  We will focus on themes of Compassion, listening practice, our precious living earth and waters, and the Bodhisattvas who look after them.

The SOLVE Beach Cleanup takes place on Saturday September 23rd from 10a - 1p

COST: $125 if registered by August 20  Late registration $150
(includes $50 non-refundable deposit)
Deadline for registration September 8th

Carpooling is strongly encouraged; there will be an extra fee after more than 6 vehicles in the group camping areas.

Costs includes simple meals, beginning with dinner on the first night through lunch on Sunday 

 
Check the box:  “I am registering myself as part of a group" and select Zen Community of Oregon. The online registration includes an e-waiver. If you can't sign up online, you can also sign up at the registration table the day of the event.

Sleeping Pad, Sleeping Bag, Pillow
Camp chair (optional)
Toiletries
Oryoki set if you have one,otherwise bring a couple of bowls & silverware for meals
Water bottle
Sitting supplies - your own cushion or bench.  There will be chairs and zabutons.
Comfortable clothing, layers in case of warm, cool, or rainy weather
Additional snack food if desired
