Our Lives Speak the Dharma: A Retreat for Women

Wednesday, May 30, 2018 - 5:00 pm to Sunday, June 03, 2018 - 1:00 pm

Open and Strong. Fierce and Tender. Alone in the whole universe, yet inter-being with all that lives. The koan of woman asks us to dance in this tension of opposites in unique and personal ways. So much of our experience as women is often hidden from the rhetoric of the Dharma teachings, as have been the stories of our female ancestors for thousands of years.

During this retreat we will use the Awakening stories of the Women Ancestors as a guide for telling our own stories. Our bodies and histories will also guide us to uncover the lived insights and awakenings of our own lives.

This retreat is designed for anyone who identifies as woman. This is a silent meditation retreat and will include: Seated meditation, movement exercises, dance, journaling and small group discussions. It will take place in the serenity and wild beauty of the monastic environment, grounds and forest.

Please bring a journal.

The monastic countainer is also home to those who indentify as male and/or have male bodies, who will be practicing as the support staff for this retreat.
