Pari-Nirvana Sesshin: A 6-Day Meditation Retreat Exploring Life and Death

Monday, February 17, 2020 - 5:00 pm to Sunday, February 23, 2020 - 1:00 pm

The Buddha's parinirvana invites us to face the unknown directly. How often in your daily life do you allow yourself to reflect on your own mortality, your own death?

During this sesshin we have the space and encouragement to look into the fears and anxieties surrounding death and dying.

Supported by the stillness and quiet of winter, we allow the body, heart and mind to deeply settle and rest - as we feel into the fundamental koans - Who is it that's alive? What dies? What remains after death?

Come, welcome the unknown and rest in the luminous ground of your own nature.

Sesshin is a rigorous and, at times, challenging meditation retreat that is not recommended for beginners. We require that you attend one of our silent weekend retreats or a five-seven day silent retreat at another Zen Center before registering for our longer zen retreats.

$50 deposit holds your space; balance due on arrival.
