Unifying the Heart/Mind Sesshin: A Meditation Retreat focused on the Practices of Concentration and Absorption

Monday, May 20, 2019 - 5:00 pm to Sunday, May 26, 2019 - 1:00 pm

Meditative concentration is a crucial aspect of the Buddhist spiritual path. Concentration means to harness the energy of the mind, allow the mind to come to rest - clear, stable and at peace. While concentration/absorption practices are deep and satisfying skills to cultivate, they also are essential in stabilizing insights that occur throughout our spiritual lives. Without the stabilizing practices of concentration, it is difficult to develop faith in the transformational aspects of Zen meditation.

During this retreat we will focus on meditative techniques that support thorough-going and deep concentration.

Guided meditations and opportunities to meet with Zen Teacher Fuho will be offered.

Sesshin is a rigorous and, at times, challenging meditation retreat that is not recommended for beginners. We ask that you attend one of our Beginner’s Mind or Loving Kindness weekend retreats before registering for our longer zen retreats.

Options to donate to our scholarship fund, which allows those on a low or fixed income to have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of retreat and Dharma practice, please make a donation if you are able.
